Buying this book was a waste of my money and a great disappointment; it's nothing more than a porn film on paper. I have absolutely nothing against steamy graphic sex, in fact I expect and enjoy it in paranormal romances but every few pages is a bit much. I also want well-developed characters, an interesting plot, coherent writing, and proper word usage. This book has none of that and is badly in need of editing for repetitiveness, coherence and continuity, word usage - it's a mess. The heroine constantly changes her mind about how she feels about the vampire. It makes your head spin. I didn't think anyone was writing "purple prose" anymore but this book is filled with it. The author describes the vampire's magnificent body and extremely large organ over and over again (we get it, he's an Adonis) and the heroine keeps talking about how he's going to burst her seams. Do we females have "seams" in there? I don't like to give negative reviews but this book is an insult to the intelligence of the reader. Read the Black Dagger Brotherhood novels if you want ripped vampires and steamy sex along with well-drawn characters and great story lines.Product details

The characters were shallow. I wanted to love the leading lady but she made one childish mistake after another and seemed to flit from one thought to sex, back to a thought and then sex. There was a plot but it was so dry and predictable that there was very little enjoyment in it. I had to struggle to finish the book and I will not be reading anything further from this author. A valiant first attempt at a book and I hope she gets a chance to develop a decent story. Also, many areas of poor grammar that the author and her editor should have easily been able to correct if either actually read the story. Such things are very distracting from an already struggling piece.
Awesome read! Mystery, danger, secrets and Hot, HOT, HOT! Abby is drawn to this mysterious stranger and there’s an element of danger surrounding him but for unknown reasons she’s not afraid and that terrifies her even more. Caleb is drawn to Abby as much as she’s drawn to him but the pull is so strong and he just can’t resist even though he knows it might not be a good idea. Once they decide to cross that line and Abby knows what he is, they can’t seem to let go. There’s danger lurking and Caleb becomes her savior and protector. Will they survive this unconventional relationship of theirs and is Abby strong enough to handle her intense lover?
I liked the book, but half if not more was of explicit sex. Don't get me wrong I love the sexy parts too, but not when that's all they basically do throughout the whole book. Plus it happened too quick, not enough of the hard to get build up of the relationship. I'm having a hard time expressing why I only gave it three stars. It's just that it made it kind of unrealistic, if that makes any sense.
Abby was an idiot. I hated this being in only her POV. Drove me insane. Abby spit out so much rubbish. Telling Natalie that she didn’t like being touched, when Natalie suggested a mani pedi. Yet the night before, she rushed from work to get a bikini wax. Ridiculous writing. Abby sees Caleb with a gorgeous blonde in an alley at a club in an intimate position and she leaves the club without confronting him. Several days later when they finally discussed it, Caleb tells her it’s none of her business and the blonde is in his life but not romantically. Does Abby pop him one? No. She lets him kiss her. Such crap. I’m sure all throughout the book she constantly described his tight, muscular body in and out of clothes, as well as her perky breast and perfectly rounded hips. Probably but I wouldn’t know because I DNF! I tried, but there really wasn’t a story. I kept hoping someone would die or something. Nothing but drivel. I do not recommend. Waste of time. No story here.
The author opens the book with a nude scene. It’s not something you haven’t encountered in a book before but the way the author wrote it was part amusing and part titillating and made you curious right away. At first, I find Caleb’s fascination/obsession with Abby concerning but as the story unfolded, the author was able to explain how Caleb’s circumstance affects their relationship. Caleb’s character could probably be further explained (A prequel, Ms. Ashmore?). Abby’s character has less depth but that doesn’t mean she’s less endearing. The book’s characters, not just the two protagonists, are intriguing which makes this book a good start to the series.
The plot and twists unravels smoothly. That doesn’t mean I didn’t question why Abby’s ex did what or what’s the significance of the ladies that Caleb keeps brushing aside as ‘not to worry about’. I’m assuming it will be explained further into the series. In general, the author writes each scene and dialogue in a way that mesmerizes. It was not a short read but it was hard to put down.
This book was a huge thorn in my kindle's side. While I loved the outline, and the strong female lead. It soon all fell dead for me. No pun intended . It felt as if it was an unedited book I read. I felt as if I had gotten the outline book , where all the idea were. There was times when the H/h be talking and she ask a question , then in the next paragraph she ask it again like she didn't remember asking the first time. And he is falling for her, must have her, will do anything for her. YET he won't freakin tell her anything about it. How old he is, about his life , nothing. YET, he he will do anything for her.... Then the end when the bad guy comes a calling, it was so anticlimactic. Sadly not the greatest first impression for me.
